Aggregates opened the opportunity for the possibility of mounds of surface. Thinking about the previous matchstick experiments: where the environment caverned void spaces within the mass, I was able to think of terracing in terms of hollowed out space. Hollow terracing allowed for a sheltered pedestrian street, as well as carving out spaces for retail space, cafes, and forming new accessways in between the spaces previously inaccessible. Because the structure of the system is based on modules, varying densities create size altering light apatures within the space. Above, the platform can be used for viewing surrounding architectures form a new angle. If this platform is shadowed by a skyscraper, the platform is raised and the space is used for foodcourts, gardens, to host public events.
The overall plan will build up what the park on lorne started: a vibrant space where pedestrians can easily get to and an extension of albert park in an architectural landscape.
